Construction of a waste plastic bottle tank at Lance Primary School

The major water fetchers ‘’Women and Children’’ in Nkuutu village face a challenge of the lack of safe clean water not even for drinking and a challenge of having to walk long distances to the water points in the neighboring villages. This challenge was brought to BUVAD’s attention and our team reached out to construct a water tank at Lance primary school. The people in the village welcomed the BUVAD innovation of building cheap, durable and mendable rainwater harvesting tanks using waste plastic bottles as bricks and constructed their first safe drinking water point. A 10,000 litres waste plastic bottle tank at Lance primary school in Nkuutu Kasokwe – Galiraaya of Kayunga District.

‘‘We need safe clean water to improve our livelihood in this village’’ Says the Head Teacher Lance Primary school.
