Donations and fundraising

How does BUVAD intend to diversify and increase its funding base?

BUVAD intends to enter into partnership with interested companies to establish a social business, such as entrepreneurship training among BUVAD beneficiaries as means of raising income from commissions earned.

BUVAD intends to buy 5-10 acres of land to cultivate and generate income from the produce.

BUVAD intends to establish a market motivated vocational skills training center with an international and innovational accommodation wing for tourism promotion.

Can I give on a monthly basis?

Yes! You can give on a monthly basis by signing up to BUVAD by setting up monthly payments via your credit card to make automatic bank transfer BUVAD bank account. We can provide the banking details on request. Automatic monthly bank transfer helps provide BUVAD with a reliable stream of funds to create lasting solutions for needy communities, while also reducing our administrative costs.

How much can I donate and how often?

You are a great pillar in BUVAD’s work. Your support is of high value to BUVAD. Any amount at any time is always most useful and most appreciated. Kindly click on to our Donate Button to make a donation within your ability it will have a great impact.

How is my donation spent?

BUVAD seeks to operate efficiently and to minimize fundraising and administrative costs.  Most of your donations will be spent with high prudency and integrity on BUVAD programs that target the communities of Kayunga. BUVAD programs are designed to contribute to the achievement of the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and specifically focus on the following SDGs: (Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 6: Clean water and Sanitation and Goal 17: Partnerships to achieve the Goals). Accordingly, BUVAD has the following interventional programs:

  1. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
  2. Environment and Nature Conservation
  3. Orphaned – Vulnerable Youths and Children
  4. Women Economic Empowerment
  5. HIV/AIDs Prevention and support – Sexual and Reproductive Health Education
  6. Networking and partnership with related agencies

BUVAD programmes and activities target the following groups of beneficiaries:

  1. Orphaned Vulnerable Children and Youths
  2. Women groups
  3. Child mothers and Child headed families
  4. The aged and disadvantaged
  5. Disadvantaged homesteads

Why should I donate to support BUVAD projects?

BUVAD is among the few NGO’s that are helping government in improving the lives of the people of Kayunga. The fact that there are few NGO’s operating in Kayunga on issues BUVAD is focusing on, places BUVAD in a unique position of aligning their work with potential donors at local, regional and international levels.

How is BUVAD funded?

BUVAD relies almost entirely on funding from; promoters, individual donors, foundations and corporations. You can support us though our donations page or sending mobile money donations via our provided mobile phone numbers or ask for our banking details for a check transfer or ask for our fiscal sponsor details to make tax deductible donations to BUVAD projects.

Volunteering and BUVAD

How do I intern or volunteer with BUVAD?

Interested in being a volunteer or intern at BUVAD? We’re looking for highly motivated people to support our mission and bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills to the task. Internships and volunteer positions provide a substantive, challenging work experience and will expand your understanding of BUVAD’s work.  Please visit our volunteer page for more info and fill out a volunteer form to apply. You will receive a confirmation email and will be contacted if you are selected as a candidate. If there are no open positions that match your interests, you can still add your information to our database, so that we can send you notifications of new jobs based on your interests.  Interns and volunteers perform many of the same tasks and frequently work together on projects, but there are some key differences between internships and volunteer positions at BUVAD.

Our interns are students in an accredited educational program, or have visas for their year of training after graduation. Work for a fixed period with a set number of hours per week; eight hours is the minimum per week, and a total of 80 hours is an acceptable minimum commitment May work for credit or a college-provided stipend, but are generally not paid by BUVAD.

Our volunteers may stay at BUVAD for short-term projects, on their tour expeditions, for occasional work, or for a number of months.  Unless otherwise noted, any qualified individual can apply. All applicants must have valid visas or work papers that allow them to legally help/stay in Uganda. BUVAD does not provide visas for interns or volunteers. BUVAD is an equal opportunity employer.
